On Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11, 1999, the members of USS Yeager, in conjunction with VTSFFC, the Science Fiction and Fantasy club at Virginia Tech, took part in the Dublin Skyfest Airshow.

Here's a photo album of the fun:

Would you buy a used starship from these people? The Starfleet uniforms were a great attention-getter, and we added quite a few new stares to our collections.

A budding Chuck Yeager? Jami Williams test drives a P-51 Mustang in pedal car form at the airshow. Ian Reid preferred the F-117 Stealth, even if his feet didn't touch the ground.

Climb to the top! Jon Reid and David "Rhapsody" Arthur accepted the challenge of "The Rock" each managing to conquer his chosen course.

How'd that get in the race? While Cindy Arthur and Jon Reid showed off the latest in Starfleet sartorial eloquence, Kim Green turned to the Dark Side with her portrayal of a Sith Lord. She actually managed to scare a few small children.

"Station 51, handle Code Three..." Dubbed the "Hawaiian Fire Department", this monster is recognized by Guiness as the fastest truck in the world. We believe it.

Classic Warbird. This Lockheed Harpoon is a World War II vintage torpedo bomber. It's actually surprisingly roomy inside for a design of its era.

A serious commuter machine. This little autogyro would be the perfect thing for those of us with frequent long commutes. The dealer's in the Roanoke area, too.

A rare opportunity. One usually only sees a Bell "Huey" from this angle if he's about to get into deep trouble, or already is. It's impressive at this range, that's for sure.

You can never start them too young. Fleet Captain Jerry Conner takes Ian Reid for a walkaround of a T-34C "Mentor", a Navy Primary Trainer. Ian liked the displays, but he thought the Army's Lear Jet was a wee bit too loud for his tastes.
